Mikado

Mikado consists of 41 wooden sticks of different values:

• 1 Mikado stick worth 20 points (twisted and blue)
• 5 Samurai sticks worth 10 points each (red, blue, red, blue, red)
• 5 Mandarin sticks worth 5 points each (blue, red, blue)
• 15 Bonzen sticks worth 3 points each (red, blue)
• 15 Kuli Sticks worth 2 points each (red, yellow, blue)

We love the simplicity of Mikado from Djeco!

The aim of the game is to pick up sticks without making other sticks move. To play this game of skills, simply hold the sticks bundled together in one hand and let them fall out in a fan shape on a large flat surface (table or floor).  The youngest player starts, and the game is played in a clockwise manner. Each player in turn try to pick up a stick of their choosing, without moving any others. If the player succeeds, he may carry on picking other sticks until one moves. It is then the next player’s turn. At the end every player add up the points of each of the sticks they have collected, the person with the most points is the winner!
